Mother's Day 2017 Gifts at Asda- Smix, I Want The Bell Jar

FullSizeRender.jpg

A quick gift guide for Mother's Day next weekend, and Asda has you covered for all the cutest Mum Gifts going. They are your one stop shop for the usual- gorgeous, lush bouquets, scented candles and beauty items, delicious chocolates, plus sparkling wine to toast the matriarch of the family.

What immediately caught my eye, and went straight on my wish list, was the £12 birdie bell jar. It would look so twee on a side table, or even a bedroom dresser. Beside a pastel flower arrangement, it has vintage appeal in the long standing popular shabby chic genre.

Asda kindly sent me some items from their  small but perfect gift collection. They are the better place to buy your Mum Baylis & Harding gift sets, if she loves them. They are always a good couple of pounds cheaper than the same sets in chemists.

As I mentioned there is a wide range of floral bouquets, but maybe your Mummy is a green fingers and would love to grow her own pink oriental lilies. It's a more thoughtful present if you have little ones because you can make the planting an event together, then watch the flowers grow as your child grows up also.

Kitty in a basket is another trinket that I'm going to have to buy myself if Smix doesn't come through with the goods. The ironic ceramic plate is just so me. There is also a bunny plate that could work for an Easter gift too.

What about a bunny teapot? So cute.

You can never got wrong with some sweeties and a lippie. There is an exclusive L'Oreal range in the Mother's Day department in your Asda store, with limited edition fun prints.

Finally, you are only just a mum to be for one Mother's Day, and it every woman sees a Mother's Day being pregnant. So if you're a man reading this and your other half is pregnant with your first child right now and you are wondering should you buy a Mum-to-be gift for next Sunday.... the answer is YES! Mummies of all kinds deserve a special day to thank them for the thankless work all year round. That's why whilst you're in Asda you could phone Mum and ask would she like you to make the Sunday dinner next weekend too. I love you, Mum.

I put together a straight forward 'save and paste loads of product photos' post showcasing Asda online's pretty cool bedding selection before Christmas week there.

It went down a treat, and lots of you became new Asda bedding fans like me. Their designs are contemporary, funky and unusual, and a great example of that is the new Purrmaids duvet cover which is £10 for a single bed and just £12 for your double.

Who Would Have Thought The Destination For Quirky, Twee and Cool Bedding Would Be Asda!

I was finishing up my Christmas shopping online this afternoon, after trawling the physical shops for three hours this morning. I somehow ended up in the  bedding section of Asda online

First off, it's a little late, but they have a selection of Christmas themed bedding. I would imagine it'll be in the sale very soon, so they could be worth bookmarking to buy cheaply for next year. I love the vintage lady & deer print with matching cushion in classic, stunning berry red.

image.jpg
image.jpg

As well as sets in traditional holly colours of red & green, I also spied this icy cool, modern village print duvet set. Without the matching Christmas themed cushions, this would be okay to use year round.

image.jpg
image.jpg

I love the variety of prints, and quirky designs in duvets right up to kingsize. Prices start around £12 for singles, and the children's bedding department also offers toddler quilt size which can be tricky to find.

image.jpg
image.jpg

This regal elephant duvet is different to anything else I've seen. Elephants aren't up my street, but I can imagine this looking so exotic in an Asian themed bedroom.

image.jpg

The children's selection is great too, both for boys and girls. I can imagine quite a few of my grown up readers would love the vintage Star Wars comic print on their own bed too.

image.jpg
image.jpg
image.jpg

And then we have 'Ohh Deer'. I fell in love with this retro deer print theme instantly. Sadly no double duvet, but I bought the fleece throw and matching cushion. I'm going to buy the matching lighting accessories when the set eventually goes into sale. Swoon-worthingly cute.

Home Alone and Elf Christmas T-shirts! Deck the Halls, & The Entire Family Out For Less at Asda This Christmas.

Want want want

All my blogger buddies are featuring beautiful party dresses for the Christmas season, and the sequins & lace sure are appealing, but fancy frocks aren't the way to go for me, and I'll explain why.

Its Christmas Day, and now I'm in my 30s, the presents aren't the best bit of the day any more, it's THE FOOD. If I wear a stunning, fitted dress I'll look super cool in the photos, but. BUT, if I wear elastic topped jeggings and a Christmas jumper one size too big, then guess who can fit the most food into themselves possible, and be comfy for a nice, afternoon. I've-gorged-myself nap. That's right, yours truly.

So, let's take a look at  George at Asda's Christmas jumper shop. They stock clothing for everyone in the family, so no traipsing round the whole internet and waiting for two or three deliveries to come. Asda delivery will be quick and in plenty of time for the 25th. The free click and collect at your local store delivery is next day if ordered before 9pm for mainland UK, or two days for NI. Free home delivery in some cases, £2.95 otherwise.

If you are searching for gifts then Asda has lots of  Christmas themed sleepwear. I always like to give my son a nice new set of pyjamas for Christmas Eve, then he doesn't look scruffy in the photos the next morning.

This faux fur trimmed jacket was £35 from George at Asda, but sadly they are out of stock right now. However these coats, and more, are in stock and range from £10 to £40.  Everyone appreciates something warm and fuzzy at Christmas time.

Finally, those elastic topped jeggings for competitive Christmas eating? George at Asda jeans and jeggings Wonderfit takes care of that too. Snug without being tight, perfect for daily wear and available in many different styles and colours.

Does Looking at these 1980s' School Lunch Boxes Get You as Giddy as it Gets Me?

In the 80s, choosing your lunchbox was one of the more pleasant parts of doing the back-to-school supply shop. American kids seemed to have metal lunch boxes, but in the UK we had plastic ones, which sometimes came with a matching flask. Did you have any of these beauties?

Now we have our own kids, it's their turn to choose their character lunch box. I find the school supplies from George at Asda are priced well. I've seen some shops' lunch boxes creep up to almost £15 in places, but Asda have all their lunch bags under £10, including the Minion print bag for £6 which my son has his eye on.

This Turtles lunch pot is only £1. Super for sending in sliced fruit and preventing it's squashedness by noon.

While you're there, remember to take advantage of the well priced school uniform pieces which come with a 100 day guarantee.
