Polka Dot Crockery Set

Wonderfully thick & heavy set of plates, mugs & bowls I received for Christmas from my mum.
As my brother remarked, they look like I could've designed them myself.

I'm a bit of a polka dot & nautical stripe addict. My previous set was Tesco sailor stripe in blue!

Obviously the dream is a complete set of Rigeway Homemaker crockery, but that remains my fantasty car boot sale find!

Kitschy Crafts Coffee Table Book

I blogged before about my 'bible' Kitsch Deluxe, and was over the moon when my parents gave me this similar tome for Christmas.

I hadn't seen it before, it's a retro stylised look back at the craft fads of the 50s, 60s & 70s.

Shell art, crochetting, painting by numbers are all in there, along with some actual plans for you to recreate these wonderfully, horrible items.

Really nice present to pick up for any crafting ladies you may know too.

Garden Centre, Concentrated Twee

Some time in the 1990's, Garden centres decided selling plants & huge bags of soil wasn't enough, and relaunched themselves as places for expensive lunches & fancy goods.

They hit on a winner, and Donaghadee Garden Centre is a fine example. With seasonal twee displays for garden inspiration & rooms of Cath Kitson homewares & scented Yankee Candles, it's more like an afternoon out than a trip to buy seeds.

I love a bit of garden centre twee, while not straight out kitsch, the indie side of me loves the cute displays & would love my garden to have the same feel.
