It seems a lot of you would like a faraway friend with confectionery benefits. The plan is to pair up each of you, UK/Ireland readers with US/Canadian readers here on this blog post.
You can sort out your own 'rules' then, but the plan I've set up with my new penpal, Dan Lacey (I wonder will I get any pancakes?), is a once a month package sent with about £3.50/$5 of goodies.
I've enabled comments on this post, so I'm hoping you lot can pair up from here. Leave a comment with your location and email or Twitter name, so someone from the other side of the ocean can get in touch.
And spread the word! The more the merrier! Surprise sweetie packages for all!
So I came across the idea of pen-palling up with one of you American World of Kitsch readers.
About once a month we can post each other an envelope of around £3.50 / $5 of our native chocolate and sweets/candy. No cans of soda as the postage would be huge then.
You get to try some UK flavours, and I get my fix of US sugary delights. Any of my US readers want to be my candy penpal? Get in touch kitschandink@me.com
If more than one US person is interested, I'll see if I can 'set you up' with another local UK sweetie fiend from my Twitter pals.
I don't mean exotic rice-stuffed vine leaves, or spices from India, I mean American, or Eastern European junk food.
My Twitter friend @gay_burns posted an Instagram of the imported Mountain Dew he found this morning, and within 3 hours I'd visited the shop in question & stocked up. They also have Root Beers, Dad's Cream Soda & Berry drinks. £1.35 per can.
If you are Northern Irish, it's the Mace on the Green Road in Conlig that's housing these treasures.
Everyone else wanting a Yankee fix, head to www.CyberCandy.co.uk The online site from the Covent Garden based store. I can't never leave there without spending £30+
As a practical product it solves my headphone problems. The 'cups' (technical term) are smaller than regular sets I've tried before, so they actually fit a girly head.
I sat last night, very pleased with myself, listening to background music from the Disneyland Parks on them.
So now I can offer you fellows 50% off on Amazon, so you can get yourself a pair too.
They retail at £49.95, but by using the code KITSCH50 you can grab a set for £24.95 Wee Tuesday morning bargain for you. Ends 10th April 2012.
